UK POWER NETWORKS PROJECT
UPDATE 27 MARCH 2025
The removal of the second transformer, T1, at Honington is scheduled for the week commencing 31st March 2025, with the transformer set to leave the site on a flatbed lorry on 4th April.
Starting the following week, civil engineers will be on-site to construct two new transformer foundations throughout April. This will involve the movement of grab lorries, water tankers, and cement lorries in and out of Honington.
The delivery of two new transformers to Honington Primary Substation is planned for the week of 22nd May 2025 (I will send a reminder closer to the time). Once delivered, electrical works will commence to connect the transformers and restore Honington Primary to the grid.
To ensure public safety during this period, we have implemented traffic control measures for the track off Sapiston Road leading to the work area. A banksman will always be present during delivery and movement of these lorries, to direct traffic and safeguard pedestrians using the track.
