​sow sweet peas now (and in February)
broad beans outside
hollyhock
oriental poppies
hellebore
wildflowers
winter salad leaves
carrots
windowsill herbs
onions
​garlic
cauliflower
phacelia​
​JOBS ...

plant spring bulbs (but not tulips yet)
plant or move biennials like forget-me-nots, wallflowers, foxgloves
​cut back and compost herbaceous perennials
prune climbing roses
​mulch raised beds
​​plant bare-root apples, pears and other fruit trees
​- also fruiting shrubs such as blackcurrants and gooseberries
​
take cuttings of penstemons and salvias
pot up verbena for cuttings in the spring
gather leaves for leaf mould
bring in tender plants before frost
​keep deadheading
be sure to cut the grass fairly short on the last cut - this will make it easier to rake up any leaves that fall!
